Project Description

The Airside Operations Facility (AOF) Snowbase forms a critical part of the airport’s winter resilience infrastructure, supporting the smooth and safe operation of airfield activities during severe weather. The facility provides secure accommodation for snow-clearing vehicles, de-icing materials, and related maintenance operations, as well as office and welfare spaces for the Airside Operations team, who manage the safe and efficient movement of all airfield traffic.

Swift Crafted delivered the carpentry and joinery package across the facility, contributing to both its operational functionality and high-quality internal finish. Works included the installation of internal timber doorsets, skirting, window boards and WC fit out.

Our team coordinated closely with the main contractor, Mace, and airport management to meet the rigorous safety and security requirements of an airside environment, ensuring precise planning and execution within restricted working conditions.
The completed facility enhances the airport’s ability to maintain uninterrupted operations throughout winter, and the project stands as a strong example of Swift Crafted’s capability to deliver specialist joinery works within complex, high-security infrastructure projects.
