Project Description

Situated at the main entrance of the university campus, The Innovation Building was designed to foster collaboration between commercial partners and academic researchers. Alongside research and office spaces, the development incorporates a multi-storey car park and a central distribution centre, helping to significantly reduce through-traffic and create a safer, more pedestrian-friendly campus environment.

Swift Crafted delivered the internal joinery and fit-out package under a JCT Design & Build Subcontract. A key architectural highlight of the project was the series of bespoke timber wall linings extending through the atrium from ground to roof. Precision was critical, every slat had to align perfectly with adjoining timber and glass doors, as well as integrate seamlessly with M&E interfaces.

This meticulous attention to detail continued through to the custom timber benches, designed to align exactly with the atrium wall. The result was a cohesive and beautifully executed interior that showcased our quality craftsmanship and accuracy.
