Project Description
Located within the University of Oxford’s world-renowned medical science campus, the Oxford Molecular Pathology Institute (OMPI) is a state-of-the-art research facility designed to advance molecular and cellular pathology. The building provides cutting-edge laboratories, offices, and collaboration spaces that foster innovation and scientific discovery.
Swift Crafted was appointed to deliver a comprehensive joinery and fit-out package, showcasing both technical precision and bespoke craftsmanship. Our scope included the full toilet and shower room fit-out complete with high-quality tiling, along with timber doorsets, ironmongery, and timber skirting throughout the building.
A standout architectural feature was the cedar cladding applied to internal wall areas and the external bicycle store, introducing warmth and natural texture within the contemporary research environment. Additionally, we designed and installed bespoke furniture and striking back-painted glass linings, which combined durability with a sleek, modern aesthetic.
The project also featured a revolving portal door to the communications room which was a technically complex installation requiring careful coordination and precision engineering. Together, these elements reflected Swift Crafted’s ability to deliver high-quality finishes within demanding scientific and technical environments.
