Industry leading training
At Swift Crafted Ltd, our company philosophy is founded on a commitment to continuous professional development.
We take a proactive approach to ensuring that all our team members receive comprehensive training and regular refresher courses across every aspect of the construction industry. We maintain a structured training programme designed to equip our carpenters and supervisors with the essential skills and certifications required to ensure that all site operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and responsibly.
We are proud to collaborate closely with local educational institutions, offering Intermediate Trade Apprenticeships in Carpentry and Higher & Degree Apprenticeships for individuals aspiring to progress into management roles within the construction sector. Many of our skilled and experienced team members began their careers through these schemes – a testament to their effectiveness and to our long-standing commitment to nurturing talent within the company.
Programme Structure
The apprenticeship follows a day-release model, with one day per week dedicated to formal education and four days spent working on site alongside experienced tradespeople. This balance ensures that apprentices apply their learning in real-world environments while developing both the technical and professional skills required to excel in their chosen discipline.
Support and Mentoring
Apprentices receive continuous mentoring and guidance both on and off site from a team of qualified managers, supervisors and carpenters. This supportive framework enables learners to progress steadily through their training, gaining valuable insights and practical experience across a variety of projects.
Collaboration and Development
We encourage collaboration and teamwork through group training sessions and team-building activities, allowing apprentices to connect and learn from others on the same programme. At any given time, SwiftCrafted Ltd strives to maintain three apprentice carpenters and five management trainees at various levels across its projects, ensuring that each apprentice benefits from peer interaction and shared learning opportunities.
Resources and Internal Learning
All apprentices gain access to our comprehensive library of internal training materials, guidance documents, and learning resources, supporting continuous professional development throughout the programme.
Apprenticeships
We currently offer two apprenticeship pathways
Intermediate Site Carpentry Apprenticeship (Two-Year Programme + EPA)
Our Intermediate Site Carpentry Apprenticeship is a two-year training programme, inclusive of the End Point Assessment (EPA), designed for individuals seeking to build a rewarding career within the construction industry. This structured apprenticeship offers the opportunity to develop essential carpentry skills, gain hands-on site experience, and achieve a recognised NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Site Carpentry) – laying the groundwork for a rewarding career working with timber in the construction industry.
Higher Apprenticeship in Construction Management (Five-Year Programme + EPA)
Our Higher Apprenticeship in Construction is a two-year programme, followed by an End Point Assessment (EPA), designed to provide individuals with a nationally recognised qualification and hands-on industry experience. Depending on HNC results after the initidal two-year period, this pathway can be extended for an additional three-years plus EPA, leading to a BSc (Hons) Degree in either Quantity Surveying (RICS-accredited) or Project Management (CIOB-accredited) – establishing a strong foundation for a successful career within the built environment.
